Health Care Advisor

c£25/30k permanent role. 

 

Our award winning client has an interesting vacancy within their occupational health company for a Health Care Advisor (Case Manager) based in Tewkesbury.  The ideal candidate for this role will have a keen interest in people, health and maintaining a healthy lifestyle, and enjoy communicating at all levels. You will need excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to gently probe and sometimes ask difficult questions.

 

Training will be given but the ideal candidate will be degree educated within a health-related subject (such as psychology, occupational health, sports therapy, nutrition, or biological science) and have work experience from within a customer focussed role.

Key Responsibilities

Case Management:

  • Liaise with managers/HR/employees over the telephone in a professional manner
  • Answer incoming calls and respond appropriately
  • Case plans to be completed and updated as required
  • Compile reports in a timely manner
  • Ensure systems are kept up to date with relevant information
  • Access appropriate evidence to support case management advice to clients
  • Locate appropriate Clinicians, refer for appointments and send relevant information to employee
  • Proactively manage all cases, seeking guidance and input from colleagues, in-house specialists and the complex team where required

 

All of the above is supported with access to online evidence based research in conjunction with a multidiscipline team including nurses, physiotherapists, doctors, surgeons, psychologists, health and safety experts and occupational health experts.

 

Personal Attributes:

  • Previous experience of working within a customer focused environment (such as call center, personal injury claims, sales or emergency response)
  • Administration experience
  • Ability to communicate (and report) to all levels
  • Able to listen, assess, ask probing questions while adhering to confidentiality
  • Good IT skills – Microsoft Office. Able to work within a paperless office.
  • Good time management skills and able to organize own workload
  • Ideally educated to degree level (but experience would be considered in lieu of this criteria)
  • Keen interest in health, nutrition, exercise and people

 

This is a permanent role with excellent opportunities to progress. Hybrid working an option after probationary period.
