Junior Buyer

Worcester, Permanent, Full time office based. Salary £26/35K depending on experience.

First Choice Recruitment are very pleased to be supporting our client with their recruitment for a Junior Buyer to join their dynamic team.

This is an exciting time as they have experienced strong growth and have new exciting clients and product ranges to work with. Our client specialise in supplying tableware and homewares to large high end stores. In this role you would be working alongside the Senior Buying and Product Development Team to source, cost out, buy and create new ranges.

Alongside the design team you will:

·         write new product briefs to submit to suppliers,

·         analyse quotes,

·         update costing sheets accurately to submit to the senior buying team for sign off

·         confidently negotiate pricing with suppliers in line with company margin requirements

·         assist on writing packaging specifications.

 

Other key duties:

·         Critical path management, ensuring all key dates are adhered to

·         Sample management, including tracking, unpacking/packing and sending out samples when required

  • Working with suppliers to ensure all samples are present for range selection and photography dates in line with critical path
  • Resolving day-to-day queries, collating and submitting sample and pricing feedback
  • Assist product selection meetings at senior and director level
  • Create new SKU's and PO's on internal systems, ensuring all information is complete and accurate
  • Trend analysis, identifying market and product opportunities, working with the senior team to incorporate these in range reviews to optimise financial performance and enhance product ranges
  • Attending UK and International trade shows

Skills

  • Previous experience within a product development or buying team - Essential
  • Good knowledge of homewares/tableware or a keen interest in this area
  • Knowledge of buying and supplying products to retailers
  • Strong Microsoft Office skills including Excel and Outlook.
  • Keen attention to detail and accuracy
  • Strong verbal, written communication and negotiation skills
  • Ability to coordinate several projects simultaneously
  • Capable of thriving in fast paced environments
  • Methodical, analytical and organised
  • Trend aware and insightful of competitor activity

Salary will be negotiable depending on experience.
